WHAT WE’RE ALL ABOUT :

By Faith She Speaks isn’t about one person’s voice but about each one of us finding our voice as His word comes alive in us!

In John 1 it says “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God… and the word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Over and over throughout scripture we see a God that comes near. A God that is deeply personal. A God that is purposeful, and intentional. A God who desires relationship.

We know God is ALWAYS speaking. Through the Bible. Through creation. Through His people. Through times of worship. Through times of prayer and reflection.

And we want to see women inspired to start conversations of their own, boldly bringing the word of God to their areas of influence.

OUR WHY :

For so many women the voice of God stops speaking when the Pastor steps off the stage on Sunday morning or when the final prayer is prayed after (insert your favorite speaker’s name here) brings a powerful message. They don’t know how to hear the voice of God. They have never experienced God speaking to them personally or even considered that God might want to use them to speak to others. Why is that?

Is it because we live in a media saturated culture where it’s easier to just hear what God has spoken to someone else than to take the time to seek God for ourselves? Possibly. Is it because we live in a celebrity driven culture where we are constantly being told that only a few – the best, the brightest, the most eloquent, the most beautiful – should be the used? Maybe. Or maybe they’ve just never seen it modeled before?

That’s the heart of ‘our’ why. We want women to know that regardless of their personality type, their skill set, or any other factor they might use to disqualify themselves, that God wants to speak to them. That He wants to use them.

WHY THE TABLE:

When we started to dream about what it would look like to create conversations that would spark conversations that would spark change, we knew that where and how these conversations happened was just as important as the people invited to be a part.

We wanted to create an intimate space, where we as a team could look each other in the eye, just like we would at the coffee shop or across the breakfast table. Though life changing moments might start in a worship center or arena, it’s when we’re face to face, sharing from the heart what God has revealed to us, that we see His word take root.

We were never meant to go it alone. We grow better when we’re together. Learning from one another and encouraging one another in the Lord. Bringing it all before the One who is faithful!

OUR PRAYER FOR YOU:

In a quiet moment of prayer on February 28th, 2015, I heard the words By Faith She Speaks. Faced with a situation that was completely outside of my control, the coming months would test my faith in God and compel me to dig deep into His word for promises I could stand on. Through adversity, the power of the spoken word would come alive and I would find it both a weapon for my warfare and an anchor for my soul. God’s word would carry me through.

By June we would see that long difficult season come to a close, but the grief left in it’s wake would seem almost insurmountable. In the quiet moments of my worship, as I would sit silent before the Lord, there I would hear those words again… By Faith She Speaks. I knew those words weren’t mine to keep, but were entrusted to me to share. So I began to pray and look for opportunities to talk about what God was speaking to my heart with my friends and sisters in Christ. And they shared too, what God was speaking to them. They were holy moments that birthed what we are doing today.

Our prayer as a team, is that through our conversations, God would show up for you too. That His word would come alive in you as never before. And that you would walk confidently into the places and the people God would call you to.
